My Holiday Style Guide
Can't believe 2017 is already coming to an end!!! I feel like time is flying by faster and faster every year that passes. And although I wish I could freeze time sometimes, I do love a good reason to dress up, and there's no better time than the holidays! I've curated a few looks perfect for Christmas, NYE, or any get-together you may have ahead.
Let's start with one of my faves from the bunch - a whimsical gold leaf metallic print maxi. Not only for the fit but also the price. This pretty little number from Forever 21 is under $60 and is reminiscent of something you'd find in a Rachel Zoe collection or even Halston Heritage- but without the steep price tag. It is a little sheer but comes with a built in body suit and since it's not fitted it's a peek-a-boo effect. Also, I had to return the small for a medium because it was just a tad too fitted around the chest.
I'm not normally a fan of red on myself, but for some reason when the holidays roll around I'm all about it! This H&M jumpsuit is perfect for almost any time of year. The quality of the material is so nice and it comes with a corset bodice, and pockets! I love me some pockets. The culotte style makes it easy to wear around the house if entertaining or hosting.
And I know some of my girls expressed concern with being too short to wear this but if you wear heels that don't have an ankle strap it should help lengthen your look. I also love how the off-shoulder detail is separate from the top, meaning you won't have to push your sleeves down non-stop..you have to put your arms through a different whole - makes a huge difference when trying to pour drinks or chase after the kids. Best part - it's under $50!! For reference, I'm wearing a size 8.
This is probably the prettiest piece I purchased this year. I love how it's velvet and also looks like a fusion Indo-Western piece. Doesn't it remind you of a sari dress?? I stumbled across this Sherri Hill mini when I was shopping for my 10-year anniversary dress and had to buy it. I'm wearing size 0 for reference!
I didn't know when it would come in use but it's perfect for NYE! It has a steeper price tag, but currently on sale and so worth the investment in my opinion. I can so see my little Mila wearing this one day! Now that I have a daughter I love buying pieces knowing that one day I can pass them down, and this one is definitely going in that collection!
This is another velvet piece from Sweet Glitter Rock, an online boutique, I have absolutely been loving. The prices are great and I've found some quality pieces. I love the wine color and the drapey feel to this as well. It's also under $50! I also sized up to a medium for this so it wouldn't be so fitted... I like the drapey look!
Another one from Sweet Glitter Rock and also under $50! This one is perfect year-round and I love the girly lace detail. It's also tiered and has an elastic waist band, which compliments almost any body type.
I paired it with some red lace up heels (from Windsor last season) to be a little more festive. I'm wearing size small.
This glitzy dress totally exceeded my expectations. It reminds me of a throwback look to the 1920s or something old Hollywood. I love the sheer detail with hanging sequins. I was skeptical when ordering on line because it's from Amazon but I was so impressed!
This also won't break the bank at around $50 and is true to size. It's also super comfy with an elastic waist band. It has a short skirt underlay and 2 slits on each side. I could see this worn at a beach wedding or something breezy & beautiful!
This dress comes from one of my go-to designers lately, Misa Los Angeles. I absolutely love the fit and drape of this dress and comes in a longer version too, plus several colors. I also have it in a beautiful coral color (pictured below). These suede bubble heels are a perfect dupe for the Azzedine Alaia sandals as well. They're from Forever 21 last season but still available!!! I also linked the coral version of this Misa Domino dress below!
This is seriously perfect for any occasion year-round!
This 1940's throwback dress is a classy, elegant look that I just love. It's very SJP circa her Sex and the City Days and could imagine her pairing it with the cutest funky Manolo's or head piece. I'm not that cool so stuck with basic black. This dress is from Lord & Taylor and comes with a flower corsage waist detail in pink, but opted out of that to keep it more simple. I can't find the link to this particular dress but here's a great option for less!
For my last look I actually had a theme in mind. We have a Studio 54 NYE bash to attend and so I wanted something very 70s with a classic Halston Heritage feel. This totally stuck out to me and it didn't break the bank. You'll never guess but I got it from Express and it's 50% off. Love everything about this metallic number.
That does it for my 2017 holiday round-up!! I had so much more shopping to share but thought I'd filter a bit to some of my faves across the board. Hope you ladies have a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones and cheers to a fabulous 2018 ahead!!!
