Hey {{first_name| you}}!

I finally get to sit down and write to my inner circle, and I have been looking forward to this one all month! 🥹

October was SO full. Diwali szn, Ramayana release (plz watch this with your fam… more on this later). We also held our biggest Garba Raas Night yet, and the cutest kindergarten Halloween parade. Every week I kept thinking, "I can't wait to tell you guys about this."

Let's catch up!

Diwali Szn 🪔

I said it on IG and I'll say it again: the outfits alone would make me choose being South Asian in every lifetime 🤌🏽✨

In New York for the All That Glitters Diwali Ball (@allthatglittersball), I wore this gown from @dollyjstudio, one of my favorite Indian designers, with jewelry from @bhindijewelers.

I'm still not over this gown 😍 It's a soft blush sequin piece with the most delicate beadwork and floral details across the bodice. It's fitted through the body, then opens up into a sheer tulle train. Every time the light hit it, it was sparklinggg.

Dolly J Studio is one of my favorite Indian designers for a reason. Their pieces have so much detail, and they always feel traditional and modern at the same time. I loved this look so much that I wore Dolly J again to the Ramayana premiere, so keep reading for that one! ✨

Then I celebrated Diwali with Live Tinted and Ulta Beauty, and this one is close to my heart. Back in 2018, my friend @deepica sat at my house and wrote out her entire business plan for @livetinted on my daughter's art sketch pad 🥹 It started with one powerful motto: "my skin is not a trend." A belief that beauty should be inclusive, that our skin tones deserve to be celebrated, and that representation matters.

Seeing that brand partner with Ulta to bring Diwali to the forefront, celebrating our culture while bringing people from different backgrounds together through beauty, was pretty surreal. It's a big reminder of what can happen when you build something rooted in who you are and what you believe in.

Garba Raas Night: Year 5 💃

Garba Raas Night 2026 poster with a boy and girl dancing with dandiya sticks

This year was our 5th year hosting Garba Raas Night, and it was our biggest one yet! Over 1,000 people, a sold-out venue, and the most amazing vendors 🥹

What started as a little idea among friends has grown into something bigger than we ever imagined. This night brings so much love and joy to our community. It brings families together, and getting to watch our kids and the next generation experience our culture and traditions means everything. It means so much to have celebrations like this that keep us connected to our roots.

Thank you to everyone who helps bring this night to life, from our planners and decor team to every one of our mela vendors, and to @brajamandala for capturing it again. I can't wait to do it all again next year, and I'd love for you to come dance with us! 🪔

Halloween at Our House 🎃

Kai's kindergarten Halloween parade was the cutest thing ever. Seeing all the little ones walking around in their costumes was SO sweet. Kai went as Michael Jackson and you can shop his costume here.

Watching Kai in that parade, I kept thinking about how much he's grown. These are the moments I want to hold on to. They're little, but they go by so fast.

And my big two are growing up just as fast. Mimi is in South Korea for a school soccer trip, and Rian is at outdoor school for the week. With both of them away, I got some extra one-on-one time with Kai kai, and it has been the sweetest 🥹

As for my Halloween costume, I was a deer! My ears didn't come in time, so I made my own: two little buns in my hair and a little makeup, and it all came together!

Beauty This Month

Products I Can't Put Down

I started a new series on Instagram called Products I Can't Put Down: the things I keep reaching for and just have to share. First up, the new @thebkbeauty cream blushes.

These cream blush sticks melt right into skin for natural-looking color. The texture is so creamy + easy to blend. And you can keep it sheer or build it up for more color. They're made with hyaluronic acid and jojoba oil, so skin feels super soft after. There are seven shades… Petal (a soft neutral pink) and Bloom (a soft peachy pink) are my fave. Shop the shades here.

Lancôme Le Stylo Waterproof Eyeliner in Ruby Fever. One liner for my full face! It's a waterproof, long-lasting eyeliner pencil, but this deep berry shade is so pretty that I used it for my whole look, start to finish. Find it here.

A Little Extra TLC

Reset, rewind, refresh, for when my skin needs a little extra TLC. This self-warming mask from @drmtlgy is everything! I used all DRMTLGY products, and you can find them at Ulta.

My 5-Minute Face

When I only have 5 minutes to get ready, Maybelline has everything I need. A few products, 5 minutes, and we're polished. Shop it at Target.

Diwali Szn Hair

I did a Zendaya-inspired Odyssey braid with my @luxyhair Seamless Clip-ins, and I think it's perfect with Indian outfits and for Diwali szn. If you want to watch my full tutorial for it, click here!

The Ramayana Premiere

Ramayana movie poster

Oh what a night! ✨ I was invited to walk the red carpet and watch the world premiere of Ramayana, and I left feeling so much pride. Seeing a story so deeply rooted in our culture brought to the big screen felt special in a different way.

It's a true epic, and it's so family friendly. For kids, it's a great introduction to the story. And for those of us parents who haven't revisited it in a while, it's a beautiful reintroduction. I can't wait for everyone to experience it, especially my own kids.

Getting to see the cast come out and talk about the film was such an amazing experience. There's something so meaningful about seeing our stories celebrated on a global stage 🙌🏽✨

And a little moment for this look, because I loved it!! Gown: c/o @boomierent (and it happens to be from one of my favorite Indian designers, @dollyjstudio). Use code AMI10! Ear cuffs: @mani_by_vp.

That's a wrap on October! 🍂 Between Diwali, the premiere, Garba and Halloween, this month was full of family, culture and so much celebrating.

Thank you for being part of my inner circle and letting me share all of it with you. ❤️
